Bluetti Expansion Batteries are designed to add usable energy storage without requiring users to replace their existing compatible power station. Capacity, connections and supported power stations vary significantly between models, so the most important considerations are compatibility, the amount of additional storage required and whether standalone operation would be useful.
The range provides several capacity options, allowing energy storage to be increased according to the requirements of the connected system. The B80 provides 806Wh, while the B210P and B230 offer 2,150Wh and 2,048Wh respectively, and the B300 provides 3,072Wh. The number of batteries that can be connected depends on the power station, with some systems supporting multiple expansion modules.
Bluetti uses lithium iron phosphate battery technology across its expansion battery range, offering a chemistry suited to repeated charging and discharging. The manufacturer specifies more than 2,500 cycles for the range's LiFePO₄ expansion batteries, although individual specifications vary by model. Battery management systems are also incorporated to monitor battery operation and help protect the connected storage system.
Expansion batteries are not universally interchangeable across every Bluetti power station, making model compatibility an important consideration before purchase. For example, the B210P is designed to expand the AC240P and AC200P L, while the B300 can be used with systems including the AC200MAX, AC200P and AC300. The B80 is intended for the AC60 and can also expand selected Bluetti power stations in Power Bank Mode, with additional accessories required for some applications.
Some Bluetti Expansion Batteries can provide useful power without being connected to a main power station. The B80, B210P, B230 and B300 feature DC outputs including USB-C, USB-A and a 12V/10A car-style outlet, allowing compatible devices to be powered directly. This can be particularly useful when a separate battery module is being used away from the main power station, although available outputs differ between models.
Charging methods vary by expansion battery, with selected models supporting mains, solar and vehicle charging either independently or through a compatible Bluetti power station. The B80, for example, can be recharged using an AC adapter, solar input or a 12V/24V vehicle supply when the appropriate equipment is available. Larger modules such as the B210P can also accept solar charging and can be recharged independently, providing additional flexibility for mobile and off-grid use.
