The BLUETTI Charger 2 is not just an upgrade; it is a revolution in mobile energy. As the world’s first alternator charger designed to function as a comprehensive Smart Energy Hub, it bridges the gap between your vehicle’s engine, solar arrays, and portable power stations. Whether you are navigating a rugged overlanding trail, living the van life dream, or maintaining a backup system in your RV, the Charger 2 provides an authoritative solution to the most common off-grid challenge: keeping your batteries full without the hassle.

Unrivalled Power: 1,200W Dual-Input Architecture

When you are on the move, every minute of driving counts. The BLUETTI Charger 2 redefines expectations for a DC to DC charger by offering a massive 1,200W combined input (up to 800W alternator + up to 600W Solar). By harnessing both your vehicle’s alternator and your solar panels simultaneously, this unit charges up to 13 times faster than a standard car cigarette lighter outlet and twice as fast as the original BLUETTI Charger 1.

This DC to DC charger with solar input allows you to recoup energy while driving through shaded forests or under the midday sun. You no longer have to choose between alternator power and solar energy, the Charger 2 intelligently blends both sources to maximise efficiency, ensuring your power station is ready for the night ahead in record time.

Expandable Versatility with the DC Hub

For those who need to power more than just a power station, the BLUETTI Charger 2 features a dedicated 12V/24V DC Output via the Bluetti DC Hub. Delivering up to 600W of dual-voltage power, it eliminates the need for expensive boost modules or complex, messy wiring.

You can run your car fridge, LED lights, fans, or any 12V/24V device directly from the hub. It is a “plug and go” solution for 4WD enthusiasts and RV owners.

Note: The DC Hub functionality requires an Anderson adapter cable for DC panel connection; please note that the DC Hub itself does not include a physical DC panel.

Precision Engineering for Modern Vehicles

Modern vehicles demand modern solutions. The BLUETTI Charger 2 is fully Smart Alternator Compatible, featuring D+ signal support. This allows the charger to communicate seamlessly with Euro 6 compliant and other intelligent alternators, ensuring smoother power draws and protecting your vehicle’s sensitive electronics.

FAQ’s

Q1: Which power stations work with Charger 2? Can it charge third-party power stations?

A: Charger 2 works with all BLUETTI power stations and most third-party stations that use MC4 connectors for solar charging. However, some third-party stations may have unstable charging rates.

Q2: Charger 2 can draw up to 800 W from the alternator and up to 600 W from solar. What’s the charging strategy for consistent 1,200W power?

A: The total charging power is limited to 1,200 W. Solar input always takes priority, and the rest is supplied by the vehicle starter battery and, if necessary, the BLUETTI auxiliary parking battery.
Here’s how it works:
⚪ If solar provides 600 W, the starter battery supplies 600W.
⚪ If solar provides 400 W, the starter battery supplies 800 W.
⚪ If solar provides 200 W, the starter battery supplies 800 W, and the remaining 200 W comes from the auxiliary parking battery to complete the 1,200 W charge

Q3: Do I need to adjust Charger 2 for different power stations?

A: Yes, after you activate Charger 2, adjust the charging voltage using the BLUETTI app to match your power station’s specs.
⚪ For smaller power stations (like the AC2A, EB3A, EB55, EB70S, AC60, and AC50B), use the default setting (28 V).
⚪ For larger stations (such as the AC70, AC180, AC180T, Elite 100 V2, Elite 200 V2, Elite 300,Elite 400, AC200MAX, AC200L, AC240, Apex 300, AC300, and AC500), set it to a higher voltage

Q4: What is Auto-Connect and does it work with all BLUETTI models?

A: Auto-Connect automatically adjusts the output voltage of Charger 2 to match your power station. It works with most BLUETTI models, except the AC200MAX, which requires manual voltage setting.

Q5: Why can’t I use an expansion cable between the power station (CHG) and the expansion battery (BAT)?

A: This will create a power loop between the power station and expansion battery, which can lead to errors in the system.

Q6: What vehicles work with Charger 2?

A: Charger 2 works with any vehicle that has a 12 V or 24 V starter battery, including RVs, vans, and trucks

Q7: Why is there no power input when using a non-BLUETTI power station, even with solar connected?

A: Some third-party power stations may experience power fluctuations or charging issues. Adding a BLUETTI auxiliary parking battery can help resolve this.

Q8: Is the D+ signal cable included? And how should it be connected?

A: The D+ signal cable is sold separately. It has a 2-pin, 5.08 mm pitch, 24 AWG connector. Refer to the Charger 2 support video for wiring details

Q9: Why does my power station flash an error when I first connect it using Smart Detection? Is this normal?

A: Yes. When you connect the power station, Charger 2 briefly sends power for verification. It may cause a brief flash, but within seconds it will recognize the unit and everything will work fine.

Q10: When should I use Reverse Charging?

A: Reverse Charging has three modes for different situations:
⚪ Emergency Jumpstart: Quickly recharges a drained or low car starter battery, allowing you to start the engine.
⚪ Trickle Charge: Provides a steady, low-current charge to keep your battery topped up over time.
⚪ Pulse Maintenance: Uses controlled pulses to reduce battery sulfation, improving recovery and extending battery life.

Q11: Why doesn’t the emergency jumpstart work?

A: The emergency jumpstart only works if your starter battery voltage is below 12.6 V. If the battery is higher than that, the jumpstart won’t activate.

Q12: Can I use Charger 2 on a hybrid or electric vehicle (EV)?

A: Charger 2 works with hybrids that have a starter battery and alternator. It does not support EVs due to their different battery and charging systems.

Q13: Will Charger 2 drain my car battery? Do I need to turn it off manually?

A: No, Charger 2 automatically stops drawing power from your car’s battery 3-6 seconds after the engine shuts off, preventing any battery drain. While the engine is running, it stays active and can be controlled through the BLUETTI app, letting you start and stop charging as needed. Plus, the new D+ signal ensures smooth operation with smart alternators.

Q14: Why isn’t Charger 2 charging my power station while driving?

A: If Charger 2 isn’t charging, try these steps:
1. Turn off your engine and check all cable connections. Make sure the positive and negative cables are securely attached.
2. Restart your engine and check the indicator light on Charger 2. The user manual will help you understand what the light means and whether Charger 2 is working properly.
3. Let your engine run for a few minutes to fully charge the car battery. Charger 2 won’t work if the car battery is too low. If the issue persists, contact our support team for help.

Q15: Will installing Charger 2 affect my vehicle’s warranty?

A: Check with your vehicle manufacturer before installation to make sure it won’t void your warranty.

Q16: Why does the system shut down when I connect AC200L and B300K?

A: When connecting AC200L and B300K, don’t use expansion cables. This will create a power loop between the power station and expansion battery, which can lead to errors in the system.

When will I receive my order?

In most cases, a product on our website will give you an indication of the current stock availability, but shipping is not uniform for all products. We maintain fantastic relationships with all of our suppliers and we aim to get products to customers within 3 business days of the order being taken. This availability is based on information from our suppliers and from sales and supply patterns. The availability information given is a guide only and not a guarantee as there are external factors that we may not have control over.

Coronavirus Update – UK couriers and transport companies will not currently guarantee delivery times and we are seeing a slight delay in deliveries – please bear this in mind when ordering.

Specialist Couriers – Some items such as the larger portable power stations are sent by specialist courier as standard couriers will not accept them. These specialist couriers are very reliable but sometimes don’t have tracking or timed delivery.

Split deliveries – We sometimes need to send orders for more than one item by different courier networks (portable power stations for example) – so you may receive items at different times.

1500rpm machines or larger diesel gensets however are typically priced on application and all depend on the destination. We will be happy to quote on any large diesel generator and discuss your needs over the phone or via email.

Most orders placed before 12pm on a business day will be shipped from our suppliers on the same day provided the product is in stock. If you need to be certain an item is in stock and available, or if you need a lead time, it’s worth calling our sales team on 01329 722390. Pricing for extended shipping areas like Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and outlying Islands, Outer Hebrides, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scilly Isles, and other postcodes not considered as UK mainland are calculated at the checkout or can be obtained by calling our offices.

Please note that the processing of a payment and acknowledgement email does not constitute a legally binding contract. In the case of mispricing, changes in stock quantity, or if we believe the machine will be misused, we reserve the right to cancel the order and provide a full refund.

Heavy Items

You will be contacted by phone after ordering a larger item to confirm a delivery date before your order is dispatched. Large or heavy items are dispatched through a pallet network, so if we can’t get in contact with you, we may be unable to send out your item on a next day delivery. Please be sure to include a working phone number with your order.

Heavy items will require the recipient to make arrangements to take delivery of the goods and may require the recipient to help the courier unload the item. For items that are delivered on a pallet the courier will leave the pallet as close to your door as possible.

1500rpm diesel generators will require forklift (or similar) offloading; if this is not available then we can arrange a Hiab offload at an additional price – please call us to discuss any delivery requirements.
